Preparing to Fast

My husband and I are going on a 21-day period of prayer and fasting. We will be following the fast based on the book of Daniel (chapters 1 and 10) as we seek God on this new chapter of our lives.

We love going on a fast at the start of the year but this one is a very special time for us. We are going to a place where what lies ahead is unknown. There is fear: fear of not being able to control what's going to happen; fear of whether we made the right decision; fear of not having enough money; fear of not being able to survive tests of faith.

All we know at this point is: what a great time to be able to trust God completely! And as much as there are things to be scared of, there is way much more that we can believe in!

I will be blogging on Bible verses, quotes, insights, prayers, and observations in a random fashion (as opposed to my usual, carefully-thought-out blog entries). I am really excited to enjoy the love and goodness of my Father!

Some of what I will share might not make sense at all to you but I hope my experience will be able to speak to you at some point in the next 21 days. If you are currently in a period of prayer and fasting I would love to hear from you as well.

Some preparation thoughts:
What am I looking for?
Do I sincerely want to seek God's face?
What am I crying out for God to do something in me that He has never done before?

Standing with you in prayer as you seek God's face. May God continue to bless you and Rob as He use both of you as channels of His blessings to the people around you.

Thank you Robert! I am glad you are loving this season of fasting. I see how you have been seeking Him and it makes me feel secure.
